Apple 20W Charger for iPhone and iPads

Compatible devices: iPhone, iPads, Apple Watch, AirPods

Apple 20W Official USB-C Charger for iPhone SE 3

Apple 20W Power Adapter is a great fast charger for iPhone and iPad owners who love pairing official accessories. It’s a well-made USB-C adapter that has a clean design with a premium finish that screams Apple’s craftsmanship. It packs a USB-C port to re-energize compatible iPhones from 0 to 50% in a mere 30 minutes. Additionally, this Apple charger works well with iPad Air as well as iPad Pro models. It’s worth mentioning this Type-C charger is quite bulky and heavy as compared to other iPhone chargers that you can grab today. Also, when we compare the Apple 20W adapter to the previous first-party 18W plug, it won’t charge your iPhone noticeably faster. Having said that, it’s almost $8 cheaper than the previous 18W Apple Adapter which is impressive.

The Apple 20W Charger is appreciated for its clean design, reliable performance, and durability. So, if you’ve got an affinity for first-party accessories, this iPhone fast charger is an excellent option.

Reasons to buy:

  • Apple’s craftsmanship
  • Clean and premium finish
  • Can be used with iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch, and AirPods

Anker Nano Pro

Compatible devices: iPhone, iPads, Apple Watch, AirPods

Anker Nano Pro Color options

The old Apple 5W charger was loved for its portability and the current Apple 20W Power Adapter boasts fast charging capabilities. Impressively, the Anker Nano Pro brings the best of both worlds. Boasting an ultra-compact design, the Anker Nano Pro is almost 45% smaller than the Apple 20W Power Adapter. Therefore, you can easily slide this smallest iPhone fast charger into your laptop sleeve or a handbag while you’re traveling. Just like the Apple 20W Adapter, Anker Nano Pro charges your fully drained iPhone to 50% in 30 minutes and then slows down the speed (it will still charge quickly) till it reaches 100%. This ensures sustainable charging and helps maintain the battery health of the iPhone.

Despite being a third-party iPhone charger, the Anker Nano Pro is packed with advanced safety features that adjust the power to prevent overheating and other issues. There are Dynamic Temperature sensor and Power Chip Tuner to monitor the temperature and adjust the power output to match connected devices.

Apart from the tiny design, what sets this iPhone charger apart from the Apple 20W Power Adapter is the five gorgeous colorful options. The Anker Nano Pro is available in Arctic White, Glacier Blue, Black, Powder Pink, and Cool Lavender finishes, as compared to Apple’s White-only option. You can pair the Power Pink Adapter with your beautiful iPhone 13 Mini Pink model.

All in all, it’s just hard to beat the Anker Nano Pro when it comes to portability.

This Apple Charger offers dual USB-C ports to let you power up a combination of iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch, AirPods, or even a MacBook Air. Therefore, you can simultaneously charge two devices at home, office, or even while you’re on the move. Anker 40W Dual-Port USB-C Charger

Anker offers a solid and value-for-money alternative to Apple’s 35W Dual Port Charger. The Anker PowerPort III Duo features a compact & space-saving design paired with a foldable plug which makes it a more convenient option for travelers. Thanks to the multiple advanced safety mechanisms, this Anker Dual Port Adapter fast charges your iPhone and iPads without heating them up (which is a major concern with third-party adapters). When we compare Anker PowerPort III Duo vs Apple 35W Dual Port Charger, the Anker one ensures a 20W power output in each port when you’ve connected dual devices. Therefore, you don’t have to sacrifice charging speeds even when both the ports are in use. Now, that also means you could connect two HomePod minis in Stereo mode with your OLED TV and Apple TV, even when there’s only one AC outlet available at the spot.

Let’s not forget that this Anker Charger for iPad Pro is backed with an 18-month warranty.

Price comparison:

Talking about Anker vs Apple Dual USB-C Port Charger, the Anker one clearly wins the race in terms of price. The Apple 35W Power Adapter is priced at $59 while the Anker PowerPort III Duo will cost you even less than half of it. Therefore, if you need a budget dual-port USB-C charger for iPhones and iPads, Anker PowerPort III Duo is a fantastic pick. Furthermore, Anker also offers a dual and triple port (2x USB-C and 1x USB-A) 65W charger.

Which one do we recommend and why?

If you don’t want to splurge on an adapter and still want to grab the best budget dual USB-C port charger for iPhones and iPads, we would recommend you to go for the Anker PowerPort III Duo without any second thoughts. It’s budget-friendly, travel-friendly, and fast charges your two Apple devices at up to 20W each. Not to forget, you can get yourself two of these Anker Chargers for iOS devices at the cost of one Apple Dual Port Charger, and even save around $4.

On the flip side, if we need the best charger to power up an iPhone and MacBook Air simultaneously, the Apple 35W Power Adapter is a more convenient option. Since the Anker PowerPort III Duo isn’t made for MacBooks, we’ll have to shell out more dollars on a MacBook-compatible charger, and this can be an even more expensive affair.

In short, if you need a dual port charger for iPhone, iPad, or any other USB-C compatible with similar power output, Anker PowerPort III Duo is the best. Whereas, if you’ve got a MacBook Air, things will go completely in favor of the Apple Dual USB-C Port Charger.

3. Apple vs Anker: MacBook Chargers

Apple Chargers for MacBook Air & MacBook Pro

Apple Charger for MacBook

Apple offers three USB-C chargers for MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models- 67W, 96W, and 120W. All these first-party MacBook chargers feature quite a bulky design and the size is increased at each ladder of the power. We appreciate the foldable prongs that neatly tuck in and make the adapter easy to carry. All the Apple chargers for MacBook Pro/Air are equipped with a single USB-C port to power up one machine at a time. These adapters are compatible with all MacBook models and other USB-C devices. Having said that, Apple recommends choosing a charger that can supply at least the minimum wattage of the adapter that comes in the box with your MacBook.

This Anker Charger for MacBook Air is also compatible with iPhones as well as iPads. Next, there’s a 100W USB-C Anker Charger that features two USB-C and one USB-A port to revive a combination of MacBook Pro/Air, iPad/iPhone, and a Type-A device. When only one USB-C port is in use, it will deliver a whopping 100W power output to revive your MacBook Pro at a crazy speed. There’s also a 4-Port option of this Anker charger for MacBook Pro that lets you add another Type-A device and juice up a total of four devices simultaneously. It’s a convenient option for desk usage.

Finally, here comes our favorite Anker Charger for MacBook Pro and Air, the powerful 120W Charging Station. Sure it is more expensive than the rest of the batch and competition, but you get Anker’s impeccable customer support. Furthermore, you don’t have to carry extra adapters! It’s a great option for multi-taskers who want to power up their iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and a power bank, all at once. Therefore, if you’re planning for your upcoming business trip or beach holiday and you’ve got to carry multiple devices, this multi-port MacBook Air will help you pack light while bringing a lot of other conveniences.

Price comparison:

Let’s have a quick look at the prices of Apple and Anker Chargers for MacBook Pro/Air.

Apple 67W Power Adapter $59
96W Power Adapter $79
140W USB-C Adapter $99
Anker 65W USB-C Charger $49.99
65W Dual Port Charger $54.99
100W USB-C Charger $85.99
100W 4-Port model $99.99
120W Charging Station $109.99

In terms of price, the Anker 65W adapter is the most budget-friendly pick amongst Apple and Anker chargers for MacBook Air. It’s budget-friendly, travel-friendly, and offers reliable performance. However, we won’t recommend this 65W charger for newer MacBook Pro models, especially the bigger 14-inch & 16-inch MacBook Pro 2021. In such cases, you can either go for Apple’s 97W Power Adapter or Anker 100W USB-C Charger for MacBook Pro.

Which one do we recommend and why?

If you want to grab the smallest charger for MacBook Air, just pick the Anker 65W option. It’s extremely portable, affordable, and works well with iPads, iPhones and Android devices too. On the other hand, if you need a charger for MacBook Pro, the Anker 120W Charging Station is a more suitable option and does justice to its price of $110. With four USB-C ports, this Anker charger for MacBook Pro lets you charge all of your Apple gear at once. Therefore, you won’t have to carry multiple charging adapters while you’re traveling. Additionally, it offers a 100W USB-C port to power up a MacBook Air or Pro at a fantastic speed.

4. Apple vs Anker: MagSafe Charger for iPhone

Apple MagSafe Charger

Compatible devices: iPhone 8 and newer models

Apple MagSafe Charger

Ever since Apple launched its MagSafe Charger for the iPhone 12 Series, it has got all the limelight. It’s an amazing iPhone accessory that doubles up the wireless charging speeds on iPhone 12 & iPhone 13 Series (from 7.5W to 15W). We love the Apple MagSafe Charger for its compact, lightweight, and aesthetically pleasing design. You can enjoy up to 15W wireless charging speeds, even when you snap your favorite MagSafe case. Additionally, you can always toss this charger inside a cross body mini bag or even your pockets, which makes it one of the best wireless iPhone chargers for daily commute. Furthermore, apart from the iPhone 12/13 Series, the Apple MagSafe charger is compatible with other Qi-enabled iPhones (iPhone 8 and above) and can charge them at their regular speeds of 7.5W. Many of its competitors lag here. They work fine for Magnetic iPhones but don’t work for the non-magnetic models.

Since its launch in 2020, we’ve seen various third-party standalone chargers with MagSafe support, but when we talk about design and performance, no one comes close to Apple’s own MagSafe Charger. Boasting over 45,000 ratings, 4.6 stars, and hundreds of positive user reviews on Amazon, it’s the most popular MagSafe charger for iPhones in 2022.

Reasons to buy:

  • Up to 15W wireless charging for iPhone 12/13 Series
  • Premium look and feel
  • Can be used to power up AirPods with a wireless charging case
  • Can charge iPhone 8 to iPhone 11 Series at up to 7.5W

Reasons to avoid:

  • Requires a 20W adapter for 15W wireless charging

Compatible devices: iPhone 12 and 13 Series

Anker MagSafe Charger for iPhone 13

At the first glance, the Anker MagSafe Charger will look a lot like Apple’s (in terms of design and finish), but the weirdly oversized USB-C plug makes a noticeable difference. Now, that’s because the Anker MagSafe Charger is just a regular Qi-enabled that’s formed into a different shape. We respect how Anker has played here. The magnets are strong enough to hold the iPhone in place and also work well with MagSafe cases. But frankly speaking, we aren’t really impressed by this MagSafe-compatible charger for iPhone 13. Also, it’s a lot harder to recommend the Anker MagSafe Charger over Apple’s, mainly because of two reasons. First, it can charge compatible iPhones at up to 7.5W only, whereas, the official MagSafe Charger doubles up the wireless charging speeds at up to 15W. Next, the Anker MagSafe Charger doesn’t look as sleek and polished as Apple’s.

Having said that, this Anker Charger is still a solid, reliable, and budget-friendly alternative to Apple MagSafe Charger that can help you save around $20.

Reasons to buy:

  • Costs less than half the price of an Apple MagSafe charger
  • Reliable performance
  • Solid magnets to hold iPhone in place

Reasons to avoid:

  • Can’t charge your iPhones at 15W (limited to 7.5W only)
  • Doesn’t look as sleek as the Apple MagSafe charger

Price comparison:

Comparing Apple vs Anker MagSafe Charger on the price front, the Anker one is clearly more affordable and offers value for money. The Apple MagSafe Charger is priced at $39, while Anker’s option will cost you around $18. Therefore, for even less than half the price, you can experience Apple’s MagSafe on your compatible iPhones. Having said that, we don’t think that Anker MagSafe Charger is better than Apple in terms of design, charging speeds, or performance.

Which one do we recommend and why?

When it comes to Anker vs Apple MagSafe Charger, we believe the Apple one is the best, and, the reason is absolutely clear. The Apple MagSafe Charger offers a wireless charging speed of up to 15W for iPhone 12 & iPhone 13 Series, as compared to Anker MagSafe Charger which tops out at 7.5W. Therefore, the latter won’t allow you to reap the full benefits of the Apple MagSafe system. However, the Anker MagSafe Chargers is a nice pick if we want to experience MagSafe at a budget-friendly price. Also, for someone who likes to power up his iPhone overnight or want a secondary MagSafe charger for the home workstation, this wireless charger is a nice option.

5. Apple MagSafe Battery vs Anker Magnetic Battery Pack

Apple MagSafe Battery Pack

Compatible devices: iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 Series

Apple MagSafe Battery Pack

Apple MagSafe Battery Pack is the official iPhone 13 accessory for on-the-go charging. It perfectly clicks at the back of your iPhone 12/13 models and automatically delivers stable wireless charging of up to 5W. Even better, you can pair it with a high-power adapter (more than 20W) and use this battery pack as a MagSafe charger to juice up your iPhone at up to 15W. Therefore, you can place this battery pack on your desk and quickly juice up your iPhone while working on your Mac or attending a video call. There’s a widget that shows the current level of charge. Additionally, Apple Battery Pack for iPhone sports an ultra-compact design, making it a suitable option for travelers, photographers or people who spend a lot of time working outdoors or on the go.

  • Lower battery capacity

Anker Magnetic Battery Pack

Compatible devices: iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 Series

Anker Magnetic Battery Pack

While the Apple MagSafe Battery Pack offers you a whole Apple experience, the Anker PowerCore Magnetic 5K brings the best value for money. Cutting the price by more than half, the Anker model offers a higher (almost 3 times) battery capacity of 5,000mAh (as compared to the 1.460mAh of the Apple model). If we compare Anker vs Apple Magsafe Battery Pack in terms of design and size, there’s not a huge size difference. The Apple model is slightly sleeker, but you won’t face any issues while using the Anker one also. It’s easy to carry and features strong built-in magnets to keep your iPhone in place while delivering the same wireless charging speed of 5W as offered by the Apple model. Therefore, if you need a nice, budget-friendly battery pack for iPhone 13 or iPhone 12 models, the Anker PowerCore Magnetic 5K is just hard to beat.

You can also go for another variant of the Anker Magnetic Battery that features a foldable kickstand for a more comfortable viewing experience. Impressively, it’s more sleek and compact as compared to the standard variant. Anker’s offerings don’t end here.

While we’re comparing Apple vs Anker’s 5,000mAh battery pack (because Apple offers only that option), Anker did announce a 10,000mAh model that offers twice the battery capacity. This amazing MagSafe Battery Pack for iPhone acts as a charger as well as a phone stand. Additionally, you can also pair a 20W power adapter to fast charge your iPhones while you’re working at your desk. Best of all, this 10,000mAh battery pack will also cost you less than the Apple 5,000mAh Battery Pack.

Reasons to buy:

  • Higher capacity than Apple’s MagSafe Battery Pack
  • Also charges with USB-C
  • Almost half the price of Apple’s
  • Strong and snappy magnets
  • Comes in different colors

Reasons to avoid:

  • Doesn’t charge your iPhone 13/12 at up to 15W

Check Price on Amazon

Price comparison:

Both the models of Anker Magnetic Battery (standard and foldable) are priced below $50. On the flip side, the Apple MagSafe Battery Pack is ridiculously priced at $99. Even worse, you’ll have to pay the double price for the Apple MagSafe battery pack as compared to Anker’s offering to get a lower-capacity wireless charger for iPhone.

Which one do we recommend and why?

In our comparison of Anker PowerCore Magnetic 5K vs Apple MagSafe, we would definitely recommend the Anker model. First, and most importantly is the price difference. While the Anker Magnetic Battery Pack offers a capacity of 5,000mAh as compared to the 1,460mAh capacity of the Apple Battery Pack, it cuts the price by half and offers an excellent value for money. Even if you wish to spend $100, we would recommend you grab two battery packs by Anker. It delivers great performance and is preferred over the Apple MagSafe Battery Pack by several industry experts as well as everyday users. Not to forget, you can also go for the 10,000mAh battery pack and still save over $20.

Second, the Anker Magnetic battery is available in five classy color options. Therefore, you can color match it with your iPhone, favorite case, and whatnot. Next, the foldable model of Anker PowerCore Magnetic (5K as well as 10K MagGo) has a built-in kickstand that lets you watch YouTube videos and make FaceTime calls without having to hold the phone in your hand.

6. Apple vs Anker: Multi-Device Wireless Chargers

Apple MagSafe Duo

Compatible devices: iPhones, AirPods with a charging case, Apple Watch

Apple MagSafe Charger Duo

Apple MagSafe Duo is a multi-purpose wireless charger that supports MagSafe for iPhone and allows you to power up two devices simultaneously. There’s a MagSafe charger on the left and an integrated Apple Watch charging puck on the right. It means you can revive your iPhone and Apple Watch or AirPods at the same time. The charger delivers up to 14W wireless charging when paired with a 27W or higher adapter. We like this MagSafe iPhone charger for its slim & foldable design that neatly packs up and gets ready for the road. Therefore, if you travel for meetings, business trips, or family vacations with multiple Apple devices, MagSafe Duo can be a useful addition.

While we absolutely love the 15W Apple MagSafe Charger, it’s hard to recommend the MagSafe Duo. First, even though the MagSafe Duo boasts classic Apple aesthetics, the hinge doesn’t look very durable. Additionally, the white finish may get dirty quickly, based on your usage. Second, Apple recommends using a 27W or higher power adapter for 14W of wireless charging with MagSafe Duo but doesn’t include one in the box. Classic move by Apple. Even if you’ve got a 20W adapter, you’ll be restricted to 11W of wireless charging. It means if you want to unleash the full potential of MagSafe Duo, you’ll have to shell out a few more dollars. Specifically speaking, the 20W adapter will cost you around $20 and the USB-C cable will come for at least $10, which makes it a total of $150 to use the MagSafe Duo Charger. This makes absolutely no sense.

Lastly, even though MagSafe Duo can be an ideal travel companion and offers up 14W wireless charging, it doesn’t justify the price tag of $129. It definitely offers a luxury experience but you’ll have to face some inconveniences too.

Reasons to buy:

  • Sleek and travel-friendly design
  • Supports up to 14W charging
  • Works well with iPhones, AirPods, and Apple Watch

Reasons to avoid:

  • Expensive
  • Can’t fast charge Apple Watch Series 7
  • Doesn’t include a power adapter
  • iPhone’s charging sweet spot is a bit hard to find

Anker 4-in-1 Wireless Charger

Compatible devices: iPhones, Apple Watch, AirPods with a charging case, Type-C devices

Anker 4-in-1 Wireless Charger

Anker offers a 4-in-1 multi-device charging station that can power up a total of four devices in one go. There’s a dedicated wireless charging stand that powers up your iPhone and keeps it upright. Therefore, you can quickly check your phone in the middle of the night or while you’re working in the office and don’t want to miss an important call/notification. Next, you’ll find a Lightning Connector Dock to revive your AirPods and a dedicated wireless charging surface for your Apple Watch. Additionally, there’s a USB-C port at the back of the station to juice up your headphones, speakers, tablets, and other compatible accessories. In short, just give this multi-device charging station a single power outlet and a little space on your desk or table, and you’ll never have to choose between which device to charge first.

We really appreciate Anker for including a 60W power adapter in the box that delivers smooth and stable power to charge multiple devices without worrying about low voltage problems. Moving further, you can power up your iPhone even with Otterbox Defender, LifeProof Fre, Apple Silicon, Tech21, and other protective cases.  Not to forget, this iPhone charging station delivers a silent performance and the indicator light is very faint, so it’s never a problem and won’t disturb you while you’re sleeping.

In short, Anker 4-in-1 is a nice wireless charging station that can power up multiple Apple devices.

Reasons to buy:

  • Costs less than Apple MagSafe Duo
  • Lets you charge more devices than MagSafe Duo
  • Includes a 60W Adapter with a 5ft cable
  • Works well with cases that are up to 5mm thick
  • Suitable for workstation tables

Reasons to avoid:

  • Not travel-friendly (can’t be folded)

Check Price on Amazon

If you often travel a lot and need a wireless charging station for multiple Apple devices, we would recommend you to check out the Anker 3-in-1 Foldable Charger. It can charge a Qi-enable iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods (with a charging case) at the same time. It’s easy to set up, fold, and pack this multi-device charging station. Also, the charger will power up your devices at a uniformly fast and smooth rate with the included adapter. Furthermore, it also works with other devices like Android smartphones, earbuds etc. So, if you’re looking for a gift for your significant other, or some sort of a tech gift for your dad with an iPhone, Anker’s 335 Wireless Charger puts up a good show.

Price comparison:

There’s not a huge price difference between Apple and Anker Multi-device wireless charging stations. Having said that, you can re-energize up to four devices with Anker 4-in-1 Wireless Charger while the MagSafe Duo lets you power up two devices simultaneously. The Anker one is priced at $119.99 and one comes with a 60W adapter, and in the case of MagSafe Duo which already costs $129, you’ll have to buy an adapter separately for $20. Therefore, the Anker 4-in-1 Charging Station for Apple devices is a value-for-money purchase.

Which one do we recommend and why?

Until and unless you don’t want to compromise on the luxury experience and need a travel-friendly multi-device charging station, we won’t recommend the Apple MagSafe Duo. The charger is way more expensive than what it offers.

If you need a wireless charging station for your home or office, we would recommend going for the Anker 4-in-1 model. You can charge more devices and don’t have to buy an adapter separately. On the flip side, if you want something that’s travel-friendly, go for Anker’s 3-in-1 option. It will still allow you to charge more devices than MagSafe Duo while saving you around $40!
