Razer Blade 16” and 18” are every gamer’s dream laptop

Big-screen gaming laptops were the highlight of CES 2023. Alongside the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18 and the Alienware m18, the Razer Blade 18 is looking to be one of the top high-end gaming laptops this year. Razer also announced its upcoming peripherals and accessories for the coming year. While the company skipped some of its usual; categories like mice and keyboards, it brought exciting features to others and created a few completely new product lines. Some of the new products launched by Razer are Project Carol gaming chairs that have speakers installed in a detachable head cushion that will elevate your gaming experience. In addition to that the Kiyo Pro Ultra webcam, VR peripherals, Leviathan V2 Pro soundbar, Razer Edge portable gaming console, and Razer Blade laptops.

The Razer Blade 16 and Razer Blade 18 are the upgraded versions of 15 and 17-inch sizes we’ve known for years. The Blade line is known for being slim and built with premium materials, so we’ll take a look at how that translates to this larger chassis. The company is claiming Razer Blade 16 to be “more graphics per inch than any other 16” gaming laptop”.

2023 Razer Blade 16 and 18: An all-new mini-LED Display

The Razer Blade 16 and 18 feature an HDR-Capable dual-mode mini-LED display that boasts 1000 nits peak brightness. The display also comes with dual-native mode switching between Creator and Gamer modes to fit the desired application. The Gamer mode switches the resolution to FullHD+ with a refresh rate of up to 240Hz while the created mode keeps the resolution to UHD+ and the screen refresh rate to 120Hz. Both models feature Intel’s 13th Gen i9 HX chipset in the top configurations, as well as Nvidia RTX 40-series graphic cards running up to 175W TGP. In Razer Balde 18 you can choose GPU options running from the RTX 4060 to the RTX 4090.

Storage and Ports in Razer Blade 16 and 18 

Both laptops start with 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM and 1TB of PCle 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD storage with user-replace replaceable RAM and storage. You can upgrade the storage up to 64GB with their 2 slots. The Blade 16 supports up to 4TB of storage while the Blade 18 can go up to 8TB. For the connectivity you’ll get one

USB-C 3.2 port, one Thunderbolt 4 port with 100W charging support, 3 USB-A 3.2 ports, one HDMI 2.1, a headphone jack along with a UHS-II SD card reader. The bigger Blade 18 adds a little more by including a 2.5Gbps ethernet port.

Razer 16 and Razer 18 feature the signature Razer Chroma per-key customizable RGB lighting, Razer Synapse monitoring software, the precision touchpad, and Windows Hello via IR full HD web cameras. The ultra-efficient vapor chamber helps in cooling your laptop, as well as spatial audio speakers to enhance your gaming experience. 

Price and Availability 

Both gaming laptops will hit the market in the 1st quarter of 2023. The Blade 16 will start from $2,699 and the Blade 18 will start from $2,899.
