Google will be releasing the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro this fall as an upgrade over last year’s Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Every year, the tech giant tries a lot to keep quiet about the upcoming product specs, but leaks keep piling up. As per a prominent leakster, Yogesh Brar, the Pixel 8 Pro will feature a 6.7” QHD+LTPO OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The device will pack the Google Tensor G3 SoC and Titan security chip for improved performance and security over the last year’s Pixel 7 Pro. Also, the device will run on Android 14 out-of-the-box. On the connectivity front, the Pixel 8 series could use Broadcom’s flagship BCM4398 chip that supports Wi-Fi 7. Moreover, it will also retain the Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

The Pixel 8 Pro is rumored to feature a triple rear camera setup. It will include a primary camera of 50MP with OIS, a 64MP ultra-wide camera, and a 48MP telephoto shooter. As for the front snapper, the device is expected to feature an 11MP camera. We also got confirmation about the long-rumored temperature sensor that will be featured in the Pixel 8 Pro.

The Pixel 8 Pro will feature a 4,950mAh battery, slightly less than the 5000 mAh on the Pixel 7 Pro. Plus, it will come with 27W wired charging support which is better than the 23W (tested, not advertised) on the Pixel 7 Pro.

From Brar’s tweet, we also knew that there will be two different storage variants of the device. The standard model will feature 12 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, whereas the top-end model will reportedly come with 256 GB storage with the same 12GB RAM. However, reports from WinFuture claim that there will be a 512 GB storage variant as well. It is worth mentioning that the base model with 12GB RAM and 128GB is expected to set you back by $899. WinFuture also claimed that the Google Pixel 8 Pro will be available in three colors – Licorice, Porcelain, and Sky. As far as the launch date is concerned, the Pixel 8 series might get unveiled on any of these four dates: October 3, 4, 10, or 11.
