Unboxing video of Google Pixel 8 Series goes viral before official launch

The Google Pixel 8 series launch event is scheduled for tomorrow, but tons of leaks surrounding these smartphone makes us feel like they are already official. Just like last year, an unboxing video has surfaced online that showcases the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro in their full glory. The videos were posted by PBKreviews YouTube channel which primarily focuses on disassembly and drop tests videos. 

The unboxing video clearly shows the minimalistic packaging of the Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. The retail box of Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro includes a USB-C to A adapter, a USB-C to USB-C cable, a quick start guide, and the phone itself. The majority of the 27-second video focuses on packaging and the box contents, but you do get a good view of both the phones at the end.

You can also see the lock screen of both devices which suggests that both devices will feature the in-display fingerprint sensor like the Pixel 7 series

As per the leaked spec sheet, the new Pixel 8 will feature a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED display and the Pixel 8 Pro will sport a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display. And, will come with 60-120Hz and 1-120Hz variable refresh rates, respectively. The Pixel 8 and 8 Pro are said to offer up to 2000 and 2400 nits of peak brightness, respectively. For improved performance, the Pixel 8 series packs the new Google Tensor G3 chipset. 

The Pixel 8 comes with a dual rear camera setup housing a 50MP wide camera sensor and a 12MP ultrawide sensor with Macro Focus. Whereas, the Google Pixel 8 Pro includes three rear cameras – a 50MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera with Macro Focus, and a 48MP 5x Telephoto lens. There’s a 10.5MP selfie camera at the front of both devices.

As far as the price is concerned, the Pixel 8 will get a $100 hike from last year’s Pixel 7 with a price tag of $599. Whereas the price of the Google Pixel 8 Pro will be $899, as same as its predecessor, the Pixel 7 Pro. The Pixel 8 will be available in Peony Rose, Grey, and Obsidian Black color options. Whereas, you can pick the Pixel 8 Pro from Sky Blue, Porcelain, and Obsidian Black colors. It is worth mentioning that the Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro are rumored to get 7 years of OS and security updates.
