Xiaomi’s answer to OnePlus? The Poco F1

Back in the olden days, there was a brand, silently at work, making the brains behind all the top smartphones of the industry. These brains, which later went on to be called processors or SoCs, were always the top of the pack and behind almost every smartphone powered by Android. The brand, here, is Qualcomm.

But the olden days have given way to the new age of great budget smartphones. Xiaomi has made a name for itself by bashing all the expensive smartphones, giving competition priced at a fraction of the cost with 95% of the same user experience. Xiaomi’s recently introduced and immaculately named smartphone brand, Poco, aims to offer top of the line specifications, best of whatever’s available in the market, at a fraction of the cost. Just look at the specs of the Poco F1-

  • Snapdragon 845 chip with Adreno 630 GPU
  • 4000 mAh Battery
  • 6.18 inch 1080p 18.7:9 display
  • Rear dual cameras(12 MP+5MP)
  • Front Facing 20 MP camera

All this power at a mouth watering price tag of 300 USD or Rs 20,999. I gotta admit, I have an S9+ in my pocket which costed way too much and makes me feel like a jackass right now. I’ll grant you this, the Galaxy S9+ will still remain the better phone. But it’s a freaking Rs 60,000 phone. You can buy 3 Poco F1’s for the price and the only major compromise is the brand name.

As Apple and Samsung rush on to shamelessly dive deeper and deeper into the 1000$ smartphone category, brands like Xiaomi and Huawei(with the Honor Play) are making an excellent name for themselves by offering unbelievably excellent deals.

The Xiaomi Poco F1 will go on sale in India via Flipkart on 29th August 2018 at 12 PM. Good luck coping one up though, because the hype is real and the demand will be through the roof.

The Poco F1 will be offered in 3 variants-
