Samsung’s new WFH monitor supports mic and a pop up webcam

Samsung’s new Webcam Monitor S4 has an inbuilt pop-up webcam that supports Windows Hello, as well as a slew of other functions to help you keep your workplace neat.

The pop-up webcam on the 24-inch 1080p monitor is actually spring-loaded. That means you’ll have to actively press the webcam to utilize or disable it; it won’t open on its own. Of course, there’s a significant advantage to keeping the webcam open all the time: it enables Windows Hello facial recognition, which allows you to login into Windows, websites, and apps instantly.

It has 2W stereo speakers for listening to colleagues, an HD webcam to see you, a microphone to hear you, and a USB hub to reduce the number of ports needed on a laptop or desktop. It is the perfect all-rounder work-from-home monitor.

The Webcam Monitor S4 is height adjustable, tiltable, and can rotate into a portrait orientation, just like other Samsung displays. It’s also VESA compatible, though, given the display’s low price, the built-in stand is surprisingly appealing. It sports a 1920×1080 resolution, an HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.2, 3 USB ports, and an audio out port.
